Marsala and its Environment
Close your eyes for a moment while the wind and the sun are caressing you. Breathe the air which is around you, full of scents: the one of the sea, the one of the vegetation and the other one of the soil. You can't make a mistake ….you are in Marsala, “the wine land”. No other town can boast of a so various production of wines. The English realized the potentiality of this place when they landed here in the 18th century. They immediately understood that, from the local grape varietes, they could get something else:a famous wine, later, known, all over the world, as “Marsala”. But, nowadays, we don't only produce “The English wine” but also many others. 12 years ago, the Cantine Vinci was born in this land. It was estabilished by three wine-growers' families who decided to start “The adventure of wine”. It wasn't so easy passing from vine-growers too bottlers. But the experience, transmitted from father to son for generations, was useful to understand what to choose in order to have a good selection of quality wines: the best grapes, the best harvest time and the best “terroir” to plant several varietes. So, producing quality grapes has become the basis to get “great” wines. Patience, willingness to learn, and the prerogative to make excellent wine have been awarded. After 12 years, the Cantine Vinci can boast of important awards and goes on producing high quality wines, always trying to get the best. Calicanto, a dry Zibibbo (local Grape Variety), Lithos Nero D'Avola, the Raisin wine Passito di Sicilia, the Passito di Pantelleria and the Marsala Vergine Soleras were born from selected estates, traditional vines and...the best grapes selection. Look through a glass of Cantine Vinci's wine and win the temptation to plunge into it, attracted by its limpidness and colour. Then imagine to bathe in the blue and crystal-clear sea of Marsala”.
