Marsala by Cantine Vinci – Marsala
Marsala wine is produced through the vinification of white grapes: grillo, insolia, cataratto and others authorized by law.
During the fermentation, the wine decanting lets wine oxidation; at the end of fermetation, we add ethilic alcohol of viticultural origin or wine brandy in order to high the alcoholic content.
If we don't add anything else, if wine is got from white grapes and it has got an ageing of 5 years the Marsala is “Vergine”.
If we add the so called “Tanning”, mixtures composed of cooked must, concentrated must or “Mistella” (aking of must whose fermentation has been stopped adding alcohol) in order to develop the aromatic aspect and the sweetness of the final product, the marsala is called tanned.
